If by now you haven’t heard about Felo Le Tee, you have been missing out, harde.
Tsholofelo Mokhine has been in the music industry since the age of 14 and opted to elevate his music production skills. He moved to the “012’s”, aka Tshwane where he studied Sound Technology at Damelin.
His stage name pays homage to his grandmother who used to cover for him when he wanted to play at gigs.
“My gran used to sneak me out of the house. She was my biggest supporter and would say, ‘It’s fine go. When you come back just knock on my window and I’ll open for you.’ Her name is Lettie which is how I came to include Le Tee to my nickname Felo.”
DJ Keyez pointed out that Felo’s first post on Instagram was actually a picture of his grandmother. The love and support from Felo’s gogo Lettie helped ground him. She was the foundation he needed to push his passion for music.
Born and raised in Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga, Felo Le Tee was inspired by many of SA’s top music DJs. Starting with cassettes, the amapiano hitmaker then moved to vinyl and finally CDJs.
The Dragon Ball Z fan is obsessed with comics and his motto in life is based on lessons his favourite character Goku taught him.
“Goku is always positive. He has this no matter what, everything is going to be ok vibe. That’s who Felo is basically.”

Project Felo Le Tee
Many are not aware that he’s worked with some of SA’s biggest artists including Focalistic, Jazzi Q and DJ Maphorisa. It wasn’t until his project Paradise was released this year that many sat up and really noticed him. The project featured on iTunes Top 100.
Despite bubbling just beneath the surface of the SA music scene for almost 8 years, he remains one of the underrated artists in the country.
He has worked on various projects such as “French Kiss” and other singles with DBN Gogo & Dihno’s album “Thokoza Café”.
One of his biggest amapiano songs at the moment was ‘Ngwana Mani’ where he featured DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Mpura, and Visca.
He has a new single out featuring Myztro titled 66 which dropped on 22 October and is the perfect summer track.
