South Africans have once again been hit with load shedding. Stage 2 kicked off at 4 pm on Monday and will last until 5 am on Tuesday.
But Eskom officials warn that load shedding could continue all week.
“This load-shedding has been caused by the higher demand as a result of the cold front setting in much earlier than expected as well as high breakdowns of generation units,” a statement read.

Generator units breakdown
Officials earlier revealed that there was a shortage of generation capacity because of breakdowns and delays in returning generator units to service.
The utility says its teams are working to return more generators to service as soon as possible.
It has, however, warned that should the generators not return, there will be more load shedding during the week.
Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshatsha has apologized to residents for the inconvenience.
