South African actress Zikhona Sodlaka has joined the ranks of local performers hosting their acting masterclasses.
Sodlaka announced that after twenty years of bringing diverse characters to life on screen, she feels it’s time to share her knowledge with others.
“Finally, a twenty-year-long wait. Let’s meet in class, mntase,” Sodlaka wrote.
The masterclass includes an eight-hour session and five online mentorship opportunities.
Her announcement was warmly received by fans and fellow thespians alike, who celebrated her decision to give back to the industry.
In 2024, Zikhona won the Best Actress Award at the Royalty Soapie Awards, beating renowned actresses such as Sindi Dlathu and the late Mam’ Connie Chiume to the accolade.
Speaking to TRUELOVE, Zikhona shared how honoured she felt to celebrate that moment with her family.
“I think, as you grow, you just genuinely know the people who have your back, and most of the time, if you’re fortunate, it’s your family. I mean, that’s my little sister over there, and that’s my big sister, and here I am in the middle.
“When you’re fortunate enough to have that, they catch you in all kinds of ways. And if they can catch you, they can celebrate with you. I want to celebrate the things worth celebrating with people I know pray for me,” she said.
