YouTuber Sibu Mpanza made a desperate plea for help on his channel this week, after his mum was murdered last week Thursday, 03 August.
The distraught Mpanza said after he received a phone call from his baby sister that his mom was shot, he expected to catch a flight down to Cape Town to be at his mother’s hospital bed, only to receive the devastating news a short while later, that his mom had lost her life.
Sibu’s mum lost her life while driving her twin grandchildren to school in Philippi East, when an unidentified armed suspect fired 5 shots at her vehicle.

Sustaining 3 gunshots, Sibu’s mum was declared dead on scene, but he said he was unable to go into all the details as the circumstances around her death is still under investigation.
“For the sake of transparency I’ll tell you this, my mother takes my niece and nephew to school everyday, because she works at a school as a teacher, close to their schools.
On the morning of the shooting, she left home at the same time as she always leaves, using the same route that she always uses, and less than 10-minutes after leaving the house, she stopped at a stop street, and she was cut off by a cab, or iphela, which was completely normal, because it was the morning, everyone was rushing to get to work and she didn’t think much of it.
Until a man got out of the backseat of the cab and pointed a gun at my mother, and proceeded to fire 5 shots at her.
He got back into the car and left.”
Sibu said his family desperately wants to take his mother’s body back home to Mpumalanga, to give her a proper burial in her hometown.
Although his family has lived in Cape Town for over 20-years, this isn’t where he wants his mother’s final resting place to be.
While his mother did have funeral policies, and life insurance in place, due to Covid-19, she was unable to keep up the payments, and he is reaching out to people to assist him with donations, to help him with her funeral costs.
Sibu Mpanza shared his banking details on his YouTube video with the hope that he will be able to give his mother a fitting farewell.
