Woman who stole a plastic bag full of R4 million at Mall of Africa was sentenced to 8 years.
Bathobile Mlangeni was found guilty of stealing R4 million from the Mall of Africa and was given an eight-year prison term.
She is accused of the bold crime at the Mall of Africa in July 2019, where she is said to have cut open two bulk cash bags before transferring the cash into garbage bags and stashing it there.
Mlangeni testified in court that she organized the heist with a coworker by the name of Lisa Galdien and gave her share to her brother, who then vanished after getting the money.

She was caught on CCTV leaving the cash depot with plastic bags full of money.
Mlangeni went on the run and was ultimately caught in 2019. she was reportedly hiding in Zola, Soweto.
On Thursday she appeared in Alexandra Magistrate Court.
