Will Smith breaks down in his first TV interview after Oscar slap with Trevor Noah.
In an interview with Trevor Noah that aired Monday night on “The Daily Show,” Will Smith talked candidly about the now-famous slap he dished out to Chris Rock at the Oscars in March.
He commented on what was happening to on that night.
“It was a lot of things, It was the little boy that watched his father beat up his mother, you know. All of that just bubbled up in that moment.”

Smith said who he was in that moment was “not who I want to be.”
During the promotion of his next movie “Emancipation,” Smith referred to the incident as “a horrific night” and claimed that when he stormed the stage and smacked host Chris Rock, he “lost it.”
“I guess the thing that was most painful for me is I took my hard and made it hard for other people… and I understood when they say hurt people, hurt people.” said Smith.
