In recent weeks, South African actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo has come under fire for allegedly playing pre-recorded mixtapes at events.
Thuli takes to social media to address these claims. She says “her progress is more shocking than her slip-ups” and now people are spreading false rumours because she can actually DJ.
“Well, thanks for the compliment,” she said.
Like most actors. or television personalities who branched off into deejaying, Thuli has found her capabilities and intentions come into question by music lovers.
Uncle Waffles, who become an overnight success after a video of her deejaying went viral and got Drake’s stamp of approval is another female DJ who’s had her talents questioned.
Despite all of this, she continues to grow from strength to strength.
