American stand-up comedian and actress are being roasted on social media for her surprising video, where she expressed shock that Zimbabwe has big, grocery stores that “don’t smell bad”.
When she posted a video of herself on TikTok in a Zimbabwean grocery, it quickly rose to the top of the trends list.
According to Haddish, the media misled her into believing that food is bought at open-air marketplaces in Zimbabwe, she says she was doing the video because she was constantly exposed to starvation in Africa via American media.
“Hey all, I’m out here in Zimbabwe, Harare, and look at the grocery store,”
“They have a grocery store. It’s beautiful. Look at this grocery store; it’s huge. It’s absolutely humongous in Africa, baby, yeah. Believe it, it doesn’t smell bad. They have a meat section, sodas, a lot of alcohol, and a freezer section.
“Unlike the grocery store at home, they sell dishes. They have a hardware section, too, along with appliances, stationery, sweets, toys, cookies, hygiene products, Vaseline, bubble bath, mouthwash, toothpaste, paper towels, toilet paper, dog food and cat food. They even have the ‘Caution: Wet Floor’ sign,”
