Former Generations actor Thabiso Mokhethi, popular for playing Sam in iconic drama recently made headlines after taking to social media to announce his retirement from ubungoma.
Mokheti recently spoke to Gogo Skhotheni on her podcast, revealing that after Generations “things just went dry.”
“I thought because I worked for six years on Generations and did great work, the public loves what I do, I get along with the directors and the colleagues, and I get along, that I would be getting money forever, but after six years they decided not to renew my contract.”
The actor pointed out how being without work affected him both mentally and spiritually.
“I found myself not working and dry. I found myself going back to a place I thought I would never go back to. When I lost my job at Generations, it became difficult for me because I started working at an early age, so losing that job affected me a lot mentally and spiritually.”
Thabiso Mokhethi on drug addiction
Thabiso Mokhethi recently opened up about his triumphant battle against drug addiction. Taking to social media, the actor shared his inspiring journey of overcoming addiction and transforming into a guiding light.
“I was once trapped in the clutches of drug addiction, but through grace, I found liberation. I was once consumed by my own struggles, sinking into depression, until the Lord rescued me. I used to live a life devoid of truth and honesty, but the Lord has molded me into a nobleman,” shared Mokhethi in part.
