According to recent reports, Special Investigating Unit (SIU) obtained a high court preservation order to freeze nine luxury properties in Pretoria, Centurion, Hartbeespoort, and Johannesburg including a BMW 4 series and two Ocean Basket restaurants in the East of Johannesburg.
Their joint value is about R24 million and they are linked to acclaimed South African actress Terry Pheto among others.

Investigations revealed the acquisition of the properties was funded by non-profit organisations with money received under the support of grant funding from the NLC (National Lotteries Commission).
On Saturday Terry Pheto revealed that she was “dismayed” to discover that she is a subject of a special investigating unit probe into allegations of fraud related to funding by the National Lotteries commission.
Terry Pheto denies any involvement in the alleged scheme.
“I also had no prior knowledge of an application to obtain a preservation order against me and have had no sight of this order. I hold the law in high regard and will co-operate fully with this investigation in an open. and transparent manner.
She adds that this is a difficult time for her and thanks everyone for their “unwavering messages of support.”
