
Shaka iLembe drama series to hit screens in June.
The drama series, which is set in the 1700s, follows the life of Sgidi ka Senzangakhona, the legendary African king, from his early childhood to maturity.
The notorious Zulu ruler Sgidi kaSenzangakhona, also known as King Shaka, is the subject of the television show.
The series for MultiChoice is produced by BOMB Productions, the company behind Isibaya, The Road, Isithembiso, and House of Zwide.
The drama series will be featuring a star-studded cast featuring Nomzamo Mbatha, Lemogang Tsipa, Senzo Radebe, Thembinkosi Mthembu, Wiseman Mncube, Khabonina Qubeka, Dawn Thandeka King, Hope Mbhele, Mondli Makhoba, Sthandiwe Kgoroge and introduces Ntando Zondi, Vusi Kunene, Mduduzi Mabaso, Sibonelo Ngubane, Ayanda Borotho and Wanda ZumaAbdul Khoza, Ziya Xulu, Calvin Ratladi, Phumlani Mndebele, Don Mlangeni.

The trailer was first released in 2022, and promotions of the series have been ongoing.
In the six years it took to create the play, historians, scholars, and family members—including the late King Goodwill Zwelithini and Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi—were consulted.
The announcement of the release date was made officialat a special event held at the Inanda Polo Club in Sandton.
Shaka iLembe, a highly awaited prime-time drama series from Mzansi Magic, will premiere on Sunday, June 18, at 8 p.m.
