South African actor Sello Sebotsane has issued a heartfelt apology to his ex-wife and family for the harm he has caused them through his abusive behaviour.
The actor acknowledged the pain and trauma he inflicted on his former wife, Shoki Mmola, and their two children.
In his apology, Sebotsane expressed: “Greetings. This is an apology directed to my ex-wife and my daughter for the pain I have caused you.
“I am deeply sorry. I know words cannot undo the damage, but I am working on myself and hope to help young people break this cycle of abuse.”
He further emphasised that violence is never the answer:
“As men, we need to learn to express ourselves and allow vulnerability. Someone out there will see and understand your pain—but only you can take the step to heal.”
Sebotsane also extended his apology to others he has hurt, making it clear that he takes full responsibility for his past actions. “I don’t want to justify anything. Wrong is wrong,” he said.
Shoki was married to Sello for 10 years until they divorced in 2018.
