Mark Pilgrim is once again battling Stage 4 lung cancer, after being in remission for 33-years.
The radio personality who started chemotherapy in March, had to have fluid drained from his lungs on Tuesday, 04 October.
Describing the procedure as no different to siphoning petrol out of a car, Pilgrim said he had over 2 litres of fluid in his lung which had collapsed.
“Not too different from siphoning petrol from a car, except the doctor’s lips aren’t sucking the pipe.
We figured out out why I’ve been man-down for over 2 weeks.
At hospital allowing a collapsed lung to start working again by draining 2 litres of fluid from the chest cavity.”
Pilgrim shared that another 2 litres of fluid will come out in a week or two, which will allow him to breathe and talk normally again.
He’s looking forward to being back on the radio, presenting The Mark Pilgrim Show on Hot 1027 FM.
Pilgrim has over 25-years experience in the radio broadcasting, having started his career at campus station, VOW FM, moving onto 5FM, 947 and KFM before joining Hot 919 and Hot 1027 FM.
