Rachel Kolisi has reflected on the WILD year her family has had, as she looks forward to heading out to their dream holiday in a few days.
The Kolisi family who have settled in France due to Siya’s signing at Racing 92, have been on the move for most of the year, with the kids changing schools a few times.
Before moving to France, the Kolisi’s set up a home in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal when Siya joined the Sharks.
This meant the couple’s children, Nicholas and Keziah changed schools three times in less than a year.
Regardless of how busy their lives have been this year, Rachel shared how grateful she was to have all members of her family reunited for the holidays.
Now that Siya’s siblings Liyema and Liphelo have joined the celebrated rugby family in France, Rachel recapped her family’s WILD year and shared what their plans are to end the year on a larger-than-life note.
“We spent most of the day exploring Jardin des tuileries, a park very close to the Louvre, it had the most incredible Christmas market.
Nic and Kez have been in 3 different schools in less than a year, and finished the first term at the school they’re currently at.
Liyema is done with his first year of studies and Liphelo done with grade 9!
We haven’t been out much because I’ve had so much work to get closed out before the year. 4 days to go till I finally get a break, and we head out for the holiday of our dreams!
It’s been one WILD year, and we plan on having the best, most quality filled time this holiday.
Siya has a game in Ireland tonight, just letting you know before the questions start.”
The Kolisi family are looking forward to their first white and cold Christmas, and Rachel shared how full her heart is to have her loved ones home for the holidays.
“My heart is full again. It’s going to be our first white and cold Christmas. In a time where there is such devastation in the world, I’m remembering how incredibly priviledged and blessed we are. Hug those you can, a little longer.”
Siya and Rachel have included the Bok Captain’s siblings, Liyema and Liphelo as part of their family since 2014.
This was after Siya’s mom passed and his siblings spent 5-years between orphanages and foster care.
