Miss South Africa 2018 Tamaryn Green and her husband, Ze Nxumalo, recently jetted off to Saint Tropez, France, for a getaway. The pair has been serving their followers picturesque content.
It appears the trip was also to celebrate Ze’s birthday; he recently celebrated the big 30.
“Happy Birthday, my love. Words are never enough to appreciate how much you mean to me. May God watch you and give you favor in all you do,” Tamaryn wished her husband a Happy Birthday.
The mother of two does, however, commend everyone who “created a proper discourse around it.”
In 2022 Tamaryn Green had her Umabo ceremony in KZN, leaving some of her followers wondering what the celebration entailed as she already had two wedding celebrations prior.
Because Tamaryn and her husband Ze come from different cultures, they decided to embrace all traditions and rituals required by both cultures to be married.
In Western culture, there is usually an engagement, followed by a bachelorette or bachelors party, then finally the white wedding. However, a traditional Zulu wedding is different and also has distinctive stages.
Green explained to her followers what an ‘Umabo’ ceremony entailed.
“There is the slaughtering of cows & sheep to welcome the Makoti(bride). The Nxumalo’s dressed in traditional clothes, and Zulu skins & performed Zulu dancing. The bride’s family sings their traditional songs, and the bride’s father hands over his daughter to the groom’s family. The traditional Induna plays the role of marriage officer. The girl declares publicly again she loves her husband and the husband the same. Gifts are then distributed to the groom’s family,” expounded Green.
