Musician Phelo Bala has opened up about his struggles with depression. In a post on his 31st birthday on Thursday, Bala revealed that there were many times he wished he wasn’t alive.
“So many times I thought I wouldn’t see another year. So many times I wished I didn’t…Living with severe depression since I was 16 and somehow I’m still standing and somehow fighting my way through this thing called life.”
Bala shared
This was the first post Phelo Bala made since splitting from his estranged husband Moshe Ndiki.
The couple were married in October 2019 and after rumours their marriage was on the rocks, confirmed their separation a few weeks ago.
Since then, Bala seems to be focusing on finding his way back to himself. His focus is on being kinder to himself and celebrating the little reasons.
“I’m learning to love myself and be more kinder to myself. Though I have many reasons not to celebrate, I have so much more to be grateful for. I guess God is not through with me just yet. Happy 31st Birthday to me.”
