At the height of her career, Nonhle Thema dominated the spotlight as arguably South Africa’s first It-girl, basking in the glitz and glamour of overseas trips, invite-only parties, world premieres, and Hollywood soirées. Her career soared to unimaginable heights during this time.
Sadly, her meteoric rise was followed by a swift downfall, marred by several public fallouts and conflicts with various South African personalities.
In hindsight, Nonhle admits she lost herself amidst the allure of money and fame. Reflecting on her past, she reveals the painful yet transformative process of letting go, a step she took to reclaim her life with the hope of living it authentically once more. “God is my idol now,” she shares, hinting at her newfound spiritual journey.
In recent weeks it has become evident that Nonhle Thema is on a path of rediscovery, seeking to rebuild her identity and nurturing a deeper relationship with God.
In 2022 Nonhle Thema hinted at making her television comeback. “The tv presenting passion faded. But I miss it, so I’m planning to come back,” she wrote, also revealing that she’d be launching a YouTube channel.
