Muvhango actress Constance Siphesihle Sibiya was consecrated as Bishop this past Saturday at the State Theatre in Pretoria.
Sibiya is popularly known for her role as matriarch Vho-Hangwani in the SABC 2 drama.
The actress is officially Bishop for the Communion of Episcopal & Apostolic Churches International which serves within the province of Saint Athanasius of Alexandria.
Speaking to Daily Sun Sibiya said she’ll be a voice for ‘women and children.’
“When I was appointed bishop-elect two years ago, I had to go through probation for two years. Now that I’ve passed it and I will be concentrated to bishop.
“Once I’m a bishop, I’ll be a bishop for women and children. I’ll be their voice in the clergy for them,” the actress was quoted by the publication.
Max Lichaba answers ancestral calling
Sophie Ndaba’s ex-husband and MD of Kwa Lichaba Chesanyama Max Lichaba announced recently that he was stepping down from his managerial position to follow his pastoral calling.
According to a statement shared, Lichaba had been avoiding his calling for years.
“The calling has been heavy and those close to me always knew. It’s now time for its manifestation.
“I have been planning to resign for a while and the Bible says you cannot serve two masters so I had to choose one and follow what God has called me for.,” read the statement.
