Moses Tembe has slammed allegations he ordered the hit on AKA.
AKA together with his lifelong friend and former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were gunned down on Friday, 10 February on Florida Road, Durban.
The father of AKA’s late financée, Anele Tembe told the Daily Sun that anyone who knew him and his family would know better than to spread such accusations.
On Saturday, 11 February after Kiernan Jarryd Forbes’ family confirmed that the rapper was killed, Tembe issued a statement offering his condolences to the Forbes family.
Shortly thereafter, the statement received a number of comments from the Lemons (Lemonade) artists fans, suggesting that Moses Tembe was to blame for AKA’s murder.
But, Tembe told the publication that the artist’s untimely death has robbed him and his family of the opportunity to get answers about his daughter’s death.
“We’ve never judged Kiernan, and we demonstrated our love for him to the very last day. We are saddened by this sad eventuality as it robs us of the opportunity we have been waiting for so patiently to vindicate our daughter in court or inquest.”
Tembe also expressed that he would like to personally visit AKA’s family to offer his condolences.
“I would like to visit his home and convey our condolences in person. As a parent, I feel pain for Kiernan’s parents (Tony and Lynn), his daughter Kairo and the family at large.”
Moses Tembe said he understands the pain AKA’s parents are feeling, having gone through it in April 2021, when Anele Tembe fell to her death from the 10th floor of a Cape Town hotel.
AKA was cleared off any involvement in Anele’s death, and he gave a tell-all interview about the night she died.
