J’Something, the charismatic frontman of the popular band Mi Casa, has shared a heartfelt tribute to the late rapper AKA, performing a soulful cover of one of his major hits, “Congratulate.”
The moving rendition was posted on social media, quickly resonating with fans still grieving the loss of the hip-hop icon. J’Something accompanied the performance with an emotional caption, honouring AKA not just as a music giant but as a close friend.
“Congratulate by @akaworldwide. I miss you dude. The lack of your physical presence is so felt … to many and to so many others. Thank you for the music and above all the friendship. You’re still so alive in so many ways. Long live SUPA MEGA long live.”
The stripped-down, heartfelt cover infused J’Something’s signature soulful vocals into AKA’s track, serving as a powerful homage to his lasting legacy.
AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, was tragically killed in Durban in February 2023.
