Lwanda Gogwana will perform Songbook Chapter 2 at this year’s edition of the Joy of Jazz music festival.
Songbook Chapter 2 is a new release. This is his third studio album and seems to follow his first studio album which was named Songbook Chapter 1.
The Jazz trumpeter will perform on the Conga Stage on Saturday 26 November at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The three-time SAMA nominee has shared many stages with artists and bands across genres. A few of the names include American jazz legend, Donald Harrison, Sibongile Khumalo, Khaya Mahlangu, Ray Phiri, Marcus Wyatt, Freshlyground, Thandiswa Mazwai, LIRA, Jimmy Dludlu, Mafikizolo, Jonas Gwangwa, Tete Mbambisa, Simphiwe Dana, McCoy Mrubata and multi-award-winning pop star and songwriter, Tresor.
Other accolades include being part of the composing and arranging team of the South African South Jazz opera, King Kong whose original musical score was composed by the great jazz pianist and composer Todd Matzikama.
Joy of Jazz in association with Kaya 959 is a jazz lover’s dream festival and it returns to Mzansi for its 23rd edition.
Plan ahead and save the date for the premier jazz festival that offers two days of soul-elevating music, on Friday and Saturday the 25th and 26th of November.
An exciting line-up of the Ultimate African Jazz Experience begins at 6.30 pm with Conga stage presented by Kaya 959.
