Kanye West may just have fumbled the biggest bag of his life after Adidas pulled their deal with the Yeezy designer over his anti-Semitic remarks.
Coming under pressure from Jewish masses, the German company severed ties with Kanye West and will no longer carry his Yeezy line of over-priced, but popular sneakers.
This means that Ye is no longer on the Forbes Billionaires list, and has just lost a whopping $1.5 billion of his net worth.
If you thought losing the lucrative deal would be enough for Kanye to be apologetic, think again and his stance is not only defiant but one of ignorance.
“I can say anti-Semitic s**t and Adidas cannot drop me.”
Kanye made the anti-Semitic remarks in a two and a half hour long interview with Lex Fridman, where he claimed there was a conspiracy by “Jewish” doctors to medicate and sedate him for his mental health issues.
To make matters worse, Ye referenced the atrocities of the Holocaust which claimed the lives of 6 million Jews by German Nazis.
Trying to downplay his controversial remarks, Ye took it further by making an insensitive statement about planned parenthood.
“Over 20 million have died by the hands of abortion. We are still in the Holocaust. A Jewish friend of mine said, ‘Go visit the Holocaust Museum,’ and my response was, let’s visit our Holocaust Museum: Planned Parenthood.”
Needless to say, Adidas dropped Kanye immediately and have ended production of the Yeezy brand.
“Adidas does not tolerate antiSemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.
After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”
