Five months after welcoming their “rainbow” baby daughter, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have welcomed their 4th child via surrogate.
The baby boy, Wren Alexander Stephens, was named after the celebrity couple’s surrogate, Alexandra.
Sharing the news to her Instagram on Thursday, 29 June, Chrissy said she always wanted to have four children, but after losing their son Jack due to complications in 2020.
“After losing Jack, I didn’t think I’d be able to carry babies on my own. To be honest, I’ve personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again.
In 2021, we reached out to a surrogacy agency, with our first correspondence inquiring about perhaps having 2 tandem surrogates, to each bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Twins, kinda?!”

But, at some point of their journey to grow their family, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen tried IVF, which resulted in the US singer’s 37-year old wife falling pregnant with their 3rd child, a baby girl named Esti.
The second successful embryo that the couple had was inserted into Alexandra, just 5-months after Esti’s birth.
It was during Chrissy’s third trimester that Alexandra confirmed she was pregnant with a little boy.
Alexandra gave birth to the couple’s 4th child on 19 June, and Chrissy says her family is now complete.
“We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us Alexandra. And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens.
Our hearts, and our home are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.”
