Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the 95th Oscar Academy Awards.
Returning to the Oscars stage, this will be Jimmy’s third time hosting the awards ceremony.
Jimmy Kimmel previously hosted the Oscars in 2017 and 2018.
This latest announcement was made by the Oscars Executive Producers and showrunners, Glenn Weis and Ricky Kirshner.
“We’re super thrilled to have Jimmy score his hat trick on this global stage. We know he will be funny and ready for anything”, said Weiss and Kirshner in a statement.
In reaction to this announcement, Jimmy expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the Oscars Awards for this third time.
“Being invited to host the Oscars for the third time is either a great honor or a trap. Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no”, Jimmy said.
The Oscars will be held on Sunday, 12th March 2023 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Jimmy Kimmel seems to be the Academy’s safety net option after this year’s Oscars when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage for mocking his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s struggles with alopecia.
