Elsa Majimbo, a Kenyan comedian and influencer, has rufffled some feathers after weighing in on the black tax in a TikTok video. The celebrity described how her father would send money to others in his extended family, which infuriated her.
Majimbo claimed that people who rely on other family members to survive are lazy. Elsa Majimbo stated that such people should starve if they cannot work and feed themselves.
“Sending money back home to your extended family is such a common African practice that I absolutely hate. I so much hate my dad doing it, and I don’t even know any of my extended family.
“I saw him doing it with his brothers, with his sisters, with his grandparents, like everyone in the family. As long as you have a job, they expect you to share that money. That is something I would not be participating in; I already knew I would never participate in it. Like, how do you come and tell me my kids are hungry? Yes, they are because you are lazy.
“Get up your a$$, get a job, and feed your kids. There is this extended family. She used to ask my dad for money even before I was born. She texted me and asked me for money. You have been asking my dad for money since before I was born, when I was raised and grew a job, and feed your kids.
