Chidinma Adetshina has revealed that she will no longer compete in pageants following her tenure as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
She represented Nigeria at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant and finished as the first runner-up. Her placement is Nigeria’s highest at any Miss Universe pageant.
In a recent statement, Miss Universe Africa and Oceania Chidinma Adetshina clarified misconceptions arising from her remarks of quitting pageantry.
“I want to put pageantry aside for now and focus more on my education and establishing who Chidimma is. I want to delve more into runway modeling and acting and explore many other areas. There are so many things I would like to try and see where my potential can take me,” she initially stated.
After declaring her intention to concentrate on her studies and pursue a career in acting and runway modeling, the beauty queen—who placed first runner-up at Miss Universe 2024—made headlines.
Nonetheless, Chidinma clarified the post on social media by stating that her choice is not final.
“Just to give clarity: When I said ‘it’s the end of the road for pageantry,’ I meant that I’ve done so well and left on a high note and I don’t think there is any need for me to do any other pageants after this. However, this decision will come into play after my reign as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania,” wrote Miss Universe Africa and Oceania Chidinma Adetshina
