Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci spent 100 hours cooking her way into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Hilda who owns a restaurant in the Lekki area of Lagos, was full of emotion after reaching the 100-hour mark.
The new record holder was only allowed 5-minute breaks every hour, or an accumulated 1-hour break after a stretch of 12 hours.
Just 1 hour to either rest, take a bath, or have a medical check done.
Hilda said she took on the challenge to prove how hardworking and determined Nigerian youths are.
Thousands of people flocked to Hilda’s restaurant, My Food by Hilda to watch the young chef cook her way in the Guinness World Records.
However, Guinness World Records were not present, and will need to first verify all footage and evidence before confirming Hilda’s new record.
Hilda Baci had initially set out to cook for just 88 hours, to beat the previous Guinness record holder of 87 hours and 45 minutes.
“What prompted me to change it to 100 hours? It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. It was just my friends pretty much talked me into it and psyched me into it, like, ‘you can actually do 100 hours. Yeah, I think it would be nice if you did it. I think you can take a longer time for someone to break 100-hours as opposed to 88 or 96 hours because it just seems so much.’
And my brother was like, yeah, if you think you can, then you owe it to yourself to just try.”
