TIMES Magazine reports that physicians at NYU Langone Health in New York City published a case report in JAMA Dermatology on Wednesday. Clinicians throughout the globe are reporting more difficulties in managing fungal infections.
According to the press release, this fungus causes tinea, or skin rashes that can spread to the face, limbs, groin, and feet. In contrast to the clean circles associated with other types of ringworm, the tinea resulting from this novel fungal infection can be misdiagnosed as eczema lesions, leading some individuals to delay seeking the necessary therapy, according to the press release.
