Netflix has announced a new South African film coming to its platform in July.
Titled Home Wrecker, the film is written by Stephina Zwane and Salamina Mosese. It stars Letoya Makhene-Pulumo, Mbali Mlotshwa, and Nay Maps, as well as Howza.
Home Wrecker comes courtesy of Salamina Mosese’s production company, Sorele Media Productions.
Reacting to her first production on Netflix, Mosese said it took her a long time to get here.
“This project stretched us further than we knew we could go, and it also blessed us immensely.
We are overjoyed to finally share it with the world, but it is also bittersweet because of the losses we suffered along the way.
So, to our beloved cast member, Lumko Johnson and Mdu Shibase (sound), we wish you were still around to see the beautiful work you both did. You are sorely missed. #Yourlegacyliveson“A million thanks to the amazing cast and crew who got us here. May u shine, always!”
Homewrecker will stream globally on Netflix from July 7, 2023.
Salamina Mosese on writing her first children’s book
In 2022 Salamina Mosese joined 959 Breakfast to chat about writing her first children’s book Disaster at Gogo’s Spaza Shop.
Mosese told 959 Breakfast that the process of writing her first book started during the lockdown after she registered for a short writing course.
“My lecturer having graded it (the book) was so entertained that he/she asked me to publish it. 10 chapters came out of me because in every module I had to write a chapter,” she said.
