Rapper Emtee is requesting a public apology for an alleged racist event at Mike’s Kitchen.
Rapper Emtee has sent a letter to Chris van Zyl, the CEO of Mike’s Kitchen, requesting a public apology for an alleged racist event.
According to the letter, the apology must be sent by Wednesday, March 13 at the latest, before business ends. If this isn’t done, the issue will be taken to court.
The musician, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu, reportedly went to the Parktown eatery with friends to unwind when load shedding occurred while he was in the recording studio.
“This was an act of harassment and racial profiling, that resulted in huge humiliation for them and severely damaged client’s image and reputation both as renowned artist and member of society, particularly because it happened in the full view of patrons, some of whom are his fans and supporters.
Client has now instructed us to direct this correspondence to yourselves as owners of Mike’s Kitchen, demanding an unreserved, public apology to him and his friends for this incident. Should such public apology not be made by close of business tomorrow, being Wednesday 13 March 2024, we hold instructions to summarily proceed with legal action on this matter.
