International superstar Britney Spears has rejected all invitations to doing tell-all interviews with Oprah Winfrey and other publications.
In November 2021 a Los Angeles judge had dissolved Britney’s conservatorship that was overseen by her father.
The ending of this conservatorship has allowed the 40-year-old superstar to not only gain control of her estate, but has also given the artist a new found sense of control and liberation of her life.
In a now deleted YouTube video that was released on Sunday, Britney noted that she was offered sums of money to have a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which she has turned down.
“I really don’t think any of that is relevant, getting paid to tell your story. I feel like it’s kind of silly. I have offers to interview with Oprah and so many people, lots and lots of money, but it’s insane”, Britney said in her now deleted YouTube video.
She continued: “I don’t want any of it. For me, it’s beyond a sit-down, proper interview”.
Britney also reiterated that despite being scared and embarrassed by the judgment, she is now a little more “confident” and willing to share her story on her own terms.
“I’ve always been scared of the judgment and definitely the embarrassment of the whole thing, period, and the skepticism and the cynical people and their opinions of what people would actually think. but (I’m) in a place now where I’m a little bit more confident that I can be willing to share openly my thoughts and what I’ve been through”.
