Renowned dancer Bontle Modiselle recently made an appearance on The Hustlers Corner with DJ Sbu for an exclusive chat.
During the interview, Bontle opened up about her husband, Priddy Ugly, losing to Casper in a boxing match last year.
Bontle revealed that her husband was disappointed after putting in so much time and effort leading up to the fight.
“After the fight that Priddy had with Cassper, we all saw how that turned out. Unfortunately, it didn’t match up to the experience of what was happening in the journey leading up to that fight. He was putting in so much time and effort preparing for that moment with very little time.”
Despite the odds being against her husband leading up to the match-up, Bontle cherishes his resilience and commitment.
“It had been a long time since I had seen him that passionate about a thing, despite whatever health hazards were there,” she said.
“I was more interested in holding his hand and making sure he soured through because it was what he wanted.”
Bontle revealed that their daughter’s unwavering belief in Priddy helped him through a tough time.
“Africa believes that his dad can pick up a truck. Even when the world ridiculed and judged him and made a joke about what had happened, in my daughter’s eyes, he was still the strongest man. That, for me, is what I thought he would hold onto instead of the noise of the world.
“That can very easily cloud your judgement and impact your confidence as a man and a protector if you take these terms very seriously.”
She is glad he holds on to their daughter’s words of affirmation. “It was a little difficult for him to get over it, and we went through it,” she said.
Bontle also revealed that Priddy is now back in the gym.
