American supermodel Bella Hadid has revealed that she regrets getting a nose job at 14-years-old.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, Bella opens up about her struggles with depression, anxiety, and her battle with Lyme’s disease.
The 25-year-old also admitted to feeling insecure about her physical appearance, noting that she felt “ugly” next to her sister, Gigi Hadid.
“I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing…That’s really what people said about me. And unfortunately, when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it”, Bella told Vogue.
Often held at the highest standard of modern beauty in society, the supermodel hasn’t always seen herself as worthy of that title.
“I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety—what was I doing getting into this business? But over the years I became a good actress. I put on a very smiley face or a very strong face”.
Bella’s battle with insecurity was ingrained so deep that she even got a nose job at the age of 14.
With regret, Bella notes that she wished she had not made any changes to her nose and kept the nose of her ancestors.
“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” she says.
Bella also expressed that she would have grown into it.
“I think I would have grown into it”, Bella notes.
