Supermodel and entrepreneur Tyra Banks has significantly expanded her SMiZE & DREAM ice cream empire, opening a new flagship store in Sydney, Australia, as a heartfelt dedication to her mother, Carolyn London.
Banks (51) surprised her mother with the grand reveal, capturing Carolyn’s emotional reaction in a video shared by the star.
“Oh my God, this is huge,” a tearful London said in the video, adding,
“I thought it was going to be a little ice cream store. Oh my God, this is beautiful.”
Banks captioned the touching video, revealing she had kept the Sydney opening a complete secret from her mother.
“I surprised her with her first look at the @SMiZEandDREAM flagship in Sydney,” she wrote. “She had no idea what to expect. Her reaction? I’ll never forget it. Ever. This is all for you, Mama Carolyn.”
The inspiration behind SMiZE & DREAM originates from Banks’ childhood.
According to the shop’s website, her mother would take her to a Häagen-Dazs ice cream shop in Hollywood every Friday night during her formative years.
“During Mama’s hard working years, every Friday night after homework and dinner, we’d have girls night at the Häagen Dazs ice cream shop in Hollywood!,” Tyra shared.
This newest location in Sydney not only broadens SMiZE & DREAM’s global reach but also serves as a sweet tribute to the woman who ignited Banks’ love for ice cream and inspired her “sweetest dream.”
