Carol Bouwer receives honorary doctorate from Heart Bible International University in Connecticut, USA.

South African businesswoman and media personality Carol Bouwer has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Heart Bible International University in Connecticut, USA.
Bouwer took to her Instagram stories to thank her friends and peers for their flood of congratulatory messages, with many proudly addressing her as Dr Carol Bouwer.
In an Instagram post, her friend and broadcaster Carl Nelson wrote, “For the last ten years, I have watched you use your platform to build bridges between women globally and your nation. I have flown around the world to support your humanitarian efforts and to applaud your advocacy.”
“So standing there to watch you be recognized here in America… I was just glad to see you finally get your recognition. Well done my sister, it is indeed congratulations, Dr. Carol Bouwer,” Nelson added.

Meanwhile, Bouwer’s close friend Tobeka Lwana wrote, “Dr Carol Bouwer, my friend honoured in the US with a doctorate that reflects decades of purpose, passion, and powerful advocacy for humanity. Your work over the years with @unicef, @unwomen, and @wphfund continues to uplift countless lives. So proud of you Carol.”
In addition to the honorary doctorate, Bouwer also received a humanitarian achievement award from the City Management of Connecticut in recognition of her years of service and advocacy.

Bouwer rose to fame in the 1990s as a presenter on the SABC talk show Motswako and as Kgomotso on the popular soapie Generations. She later founded Carol Bouwer Productions, the company behind Motswako, the lifestyle show The A List, and the prestigious Mbokodo Awards.
On a personal note, Bouwer celebrated her son Danté’s 24th birthday on June 2025. Danté graduated from the prestigious Bayes Business School at City University of London.
