Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams has broken her silence following a misunderstanding that unfolded on the show, leading to speculation about the state of her friendship with fellow cast member Jojo Robinson.
In an emotional statement posted to her social media, Nonku clarified that her recent comments were never intended to downplay the bond she shares with Jojo.
She acknowledged that her words, particularly calling their friendship “surface level,” may have come across as hurtful, but stressed that they were taken out of context.
“In no way was I speaking about the love or bond we share, that was never my intention,” she wrote. “I tend to be very blunt in how I express myself, and I’m actively working on being more mindful and gentle in my delivery.”
Nonku explained that her remarks came from a place of spiritual growth, which has led her to approach certain aspects of her life with more intention and privacy.
She shared that her deepening relationship with God has shifted her priorities, but not her affections for Jojo.
“As I’ve drawn closer to God, I’ve entered a space of deeper intimacy… not everything needs to be posted for the ’Gram. Some things deserve to be kept sacred,” she wrote.
Despite the challenges of maintaining authentic friendships within the highly publicised setting of a reality show, Nonku expressed gratitude for her journey with Jojo, describing it as one filled with joy, laughter, and genuine connection.
“Jojo brings out a playful and childlike side of me… my love and appreciation for her as a sister and friend have never wavered.”
“Every friendship has its seasons, lessons, and growing pains. I trust that Jojo knows my heart. I love Jojo, and I’m committed to our friendship.”
This comes after Jojo had issued a lengthy heartfelt statement saying that Nonku will always have a special place in her heart.
