R&B legend Kenny Lattimore and his wife are celebrating a big event for their daughter Skylar as she officially begins Mandarin immersion school.
Reflecting on this milestone moment, Lattimore noted that “research shows that toddler years (she’s 2.5 now) are the best time for children to absorb new languages.
Since she was 6 months, we’ve been incorporating Spanish through her babysitters and Mandarin through @infantlearning. And now… school!”
Lattimore asked his followers to wish her luck on this new educational journey.
Earlier this year, the musician and his ex-wife Chanté Moore celebrated another major milestone when their son, KJ Lattimore, graduated from university.
Kenny Lattimore expressed his pride and joy at the achievement.
“Congratulations to the now university graduate @kjlattimore! Four years in the making!” he wrote. “It feels like yesterday my sister and I moved KJ into his dormitory on this very campus. Today, my entire family and I watched him walk across that stage.”
He acknowledged the commitment it took to reach this milestone:
“Four years of prayer, encouragement, hard work, tuition payments, late-night calls, and sometimes tough love to keep him focused, and here we are. What a journey.”
He also thanked Maryland Governor Wes Moore for delivering inspiring words to the graduates: “@govwesmoore thank you for your encouraging words to the graduates today! God is… Good!”
