Actor-turned-director Kagiso Modupe is celebrating a major milestone, marking 20 years of his career with South African broadcaster e.tv, which he began as a young, aspiring actor.
The multi-talented artist, who captured the hearts of millions as Mangi Nyathi on the popular soapie ‘Scandal!’, has now been appointed as the head director for the channel’s top show, ‘House of Zwide’.
Modupe’s journey with e.tv began more than two decades ago when he first appeared on ‘Scandal!’. He spent 13 years on the show, leaving an indelible mark with his portrayal of the beloved character.
His directorial debut, the feature film ‘Losing Lerato’, garnered international acclaim and success. The film tells the story of a man separated from his child by a vengeful mother and explores the challenges faced by fathers navigating legal battles over child maintenance. Modupe’s other notable works include the films ‘Thando’, ‘Harvest’, and ‘Ingoma’.
Reflecting on his remarkable career journey, Modupe expressed his gratitude for the opportunities e.tv has provided.
