American singer Chris Brown has entered a plea of not guilty to charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub.
The 36-year-old musician stands accused of unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Abraham Diaw at the Tape venue on 19 February 2023.
Brown’s co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, also denied the same charge during a plea and trial preparation hearing at London’s Southwark Crown Court.
Both individuals face additional charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, with Brown specifically facing a count of having an offensive weapon in a public place.
A trial date has been set for 26 October 2026, with an estimated duration of five to seven days.
Brown, who was granted conditional bail last month, was required to pay a £5 million (approximately R120 million) security fee as part of his bail agreement.
Despite the ongoing legal challenges, Brown has been able to continue with his scheduled international tour, having performed in Wales on Thursday night.
