Popular Johannesburg-based plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa has confirmed the end of his whirlwind romance with TV personality Minnie Dlamini.
He also squashed rumours that their relationship ended because of infidelity on Minnies’ part.
This comes after Brian recently set tongues wagging when he shared a cryptic Instagram story reading, “ I am sorry Brian. I will never cheat again.”
Tabloids and blogs quickly caught onto the post and alluded that the reason for the demise of their relationship may have been infidelity from Minnie’s part.
In a statement he posted on his Instagram account on Monday, Dr Brian set the record straight and said,
“I note with deep dismay that a tabloid newspaper published a malicious article regarding the reason my relationship with Ms Minenhle Dlamini ended.
The article, as it acknowledges, is based on rumours and is far from the truth. It is not in my nature to entertain rumors, however, this specific rumour is malicious and has the potential to taint Ms Dlamini’s reputation in circumstances where the rumors are devoid of any truth. It is for this reason that I deem it necessary to set the record straight.”
Brian added that their relationship came to an end for personal reasons and had nothing to do with infidelity.
“Whilst our romantic relationship has come to an end, there remains mutual respect between Ms Dlamini and I,” he said.
Minnie and Brian first went Instagram official on Valentine’s Day when they publicly declared their love for each other on social media.
According to the pictures the former couple shared, it also looked like Brian gifted Minnie with a new Porsche.
“Thank you for loving me and loving me loudly. Happy Valentine’s Day Motho Waka @brianmonaisa,” Minnie wrote on Instagram.
In March the duo sparked break-up rumours when they deleted pictures of each other from their respective Instagram accounts.
Minnie was previously married to television producer Quinton Jones, with whom she shares 4-year-old son Netha.
The pair married in 2017 and announced their divorce in February 2022.
