Social network Twitter has temporarily suspended the account of Economic Freedom Fighter’s account saying he has violated the platform’s rules.
The suspension means he is not allowed to tweet and certain features of his account have been disabled.
This follows Malema’s commentary on the ongoing unrest in the country where there’s been an ongoing surge of violent protests and looting following the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma.
Deputy President of the EFF Floyd Shivambu took to Twitter saying that part of the reason he was temporarily suspended was him tweeting #NoToSoldiers, objecting the government’s decision to deploy the SANDF to affected areas
So @Twitter has temporarily suspended the account of CiC @Julius_S_Malema for tweeting #NoToSoldiers & stating the fact that “War is declared on civilians”?. The white capitalist establishment is desperate to protect their puppet who’s failing to provide leadership! pic.twitter.com/ouOfD3RTvr

You can’t start with @SAPoliceService or @SANDF_ZA as the first call. The question should be: Where are the leaders to speak to their people? Are they scared of their people? And if the answer is yes, the next question should be: why are the leaders in the first place?

The DA has also announce that they would be laying charged to Malema for inciting violence.
The DA will lay criminal charges against Duduzane Zuma, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and the EFF’s Julius Malema.
