Amapiano is taking over the world and UK born singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran is the latest international artist riding the authentic South African genre’s wave.
His latest single Bad Habits has knocked his previous No. 1 tracks clean of their perch, hitting its 7th week at No.1
Churning out chart-topping tracks is Ed’s speciality but the artist is always switching it up and this time he’s roped in South African producer and Amapiano maestro Kooldrink for the remix of his record-breaking No.1 hit.
The South African artist has been quietly hitting global music ranks with his blend of pop and Amapiano and naturally, the collaboration with Ed Sheeran has been massive for him.
While the remix has just hit Ed Sheeran’s YouTube channel, the duo worked on the track two months ago.
Amapiano is a style of house music that originated in South Africa in 2012 and is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide and percussive basslines.
