Former President Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma has made it clear that there a lot of changes on the horizon, and that the next two to three years will be all about laying the foundation for what could be a presidential bid.
In a video that surfaced of social media, he outlines his way forward and shared his ideal vision about what needs to happen in the country when he possibly becomes president. He said, “When 2024 comes we will be fully in control.”

Are these plans the groundwork for his 2024 presidential bid?
Last year in an exclusive interview with Newzroom Afrika, he indicated that he would be running for president. “Yes, definitely. I will be contesting for leadership in 2024. Whatever position the people want me to take, I’ll take. If they say I should be the president, I’ll listen,” he said.
Reset, rebuild and redistribute
In the video, he says that in the next two to three years, things are going to change, affirming his plans to, “…reset, rebuild and redistribute.” He added that building South Africa to make it what we want it to be in the next 20 – 50 years starts now.
“We are taking over”
Duduzane has cited the redistribution of land and giving students across the country free decolonized education as his main goals in 2024, in what he suggests will be the year of turning things around. He encouraged his supporters to focus on the bigger picture and to avoid being caught up in the slide shows.
“Don’t be distracted by the slide shows and the rhetoric, and the narratives that have been built for a long time that keep us divided. We are going to pull through and make this happen for ourselves and we will not be dependent on handouts from anyone.”
Late last year, became the talk of the country when he inspired the trending #DuduzaneChallange which saw South Africans making grand entrances with their entourages to the 2020 hit song Imali Eningi by Big Zulu.
