Seasoned duo Dj Vetkoek and Mahoota have made a name for themselves for being one of the longest running house music dous in South African music history. They were recently in conversation with Bridget Masinga on the #BSide.
Over the years the duo have crafted a following unmatched and have travelled the country with countless hits under their belt. The pair say they are not stopping any time soon and said that over the last 5 years, 52 weekends straight they have been on the road, making and spreading the joy of music.

Many South Africans can attest to exhilarating experiences at Dj Mahoota’s annual birthday celebrations. Mahoota has for years been mysterious about his age.
“I was tired of people always asking how old I was, we came up with this new concept called SA Music Carnival which basically is to celebrates our culture, different sounds, and different styles”

At this year’s SA Music Carnival on the 15 of March, there will be 6 genres of music, that will include Hip-hop, Kwaito, House, Trap, Amapiyano, and Qqom.
