Dr. Sindi van Zyl had a way of touching people with just her presence, it is, for this reason, she adopted the moniker ‘the people’s doctor.’
She lost her battle to COVID-19, after a two-month hospital fight. The country rallied behind the doctor to help her family raise money for the exorbitant medical bills.
T-Bose and Sizwe hosted a special broadcast to remember and celebrate the good doctor’s life and legacy. Listen to various personalities share their tributes to Dr. Sindi, including Tumi Sole, Unathi, Gugulethu Mfuphi, John Perlman, and many more.
South Africans also shared their messages in honour of the ‘Dutchess of Healing’ as she was fondly referred to. Dr. Sindi always helped people, going above and beyond conventional medical aid.
These are just some of the messages from South Africans who all share in this massive loss:

Dr. Sindi did everything with love for people- even those she didn’t know or never met. With an open heart & mind, she just wanted to see if the world would really change and boy, did she change it! She lived. She was here. We’re blessed to have experienced her #RIPDrSindiVanZyl

The way we all feel like we knew Dr Sindi personally. The way it feels like we just lost a close loved one speaks volumes on the kind of person she was. Kindness personified! What a lovely human being. What a beautiful life lived. My heart goes out to her family. #RIPDrSindi ?
