30 July 2025 marks a painful milestone for the Ferguson family, exactly four years since the passing of beloved actor and producer Shona Ferguson.
Shona, the husband of media mogul Connie Ferguson, died in 2021 from COVID-19 complications. He was laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Fourways Park Cemetery, attended only by close family and friends.
His daughter, Lesedi Matsunyane, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, posting videos and old pictures of the precious moments they once shared.
Expressing the depth of her grief, Lesedi wrote:
Saying I miss you sounds insufficient. Articulating my grief sounds redundant. So many moments missed and so much guidance needed.
She ended her moving post with the words: “#TheShoGoesOn,” a phrase that has become a beacon of remembrance and strength for the family.
For the Fergusons, marking Shona’s death anniversary has become a tradition.
This year’s commemoration comes only days after Connie Ferguson reflected on the loss of her own mother, who passed away on July 12 years ago.
Through their tributes, the family continues to honour the memory of Shona Ferguson, a man remembered not only as a talented actor and visionary producer but also as a loving father, husband, and source of guidance.
