Professor Thuli Madonsela has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Richard Foxton, on what would have been his 83rd birthday.
The former Public Protector’s emotional post on X, formerly known as Twitter, comes just over two months after his passing.
Richard Edward Foxton, known to many as “Dick” or “Mr Foxton,” passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 82 in June.
He is remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather of nine.
As the visionary founder of his firm, Foxton Communicating, he was known for setting new standards in the communications sector through his commitment to ethical, transparent, and effective practices.
Since his death, Professor Madonsela has been open about her grief, frequently sharing tributes and expressing gratitude for the support she has received. A month after his passing, the family came together to light a candle and sing in his honour.
In her latest post, Madonsela reflected on his love for celebrating and his unwavering support for his friends.
“Happy heavenly birthday to my love Richard (Dick) Foxton,” she wrote.
“Inspired by his love of birthday celebrations and unwavering support of his Nieman Fellows Friends, today we will celebrate this day the way he would have done & also play The Rose.”
