[OPINION] Hands-off the nude beach at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality

By Unathi Sonwabile Henama The Public Protector has ruled against the proposed nude beach at the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality. Newspaper reports note that the Public Protector identified that the municipality had breached its own anti-nudity policies. In 2015, the KZN Naturalist Association made a formal application for a beach between Port Shepstone and Port Edward to be declared a nudist friend beach, and it forms part of Mpenjani Beach, part of […]

Unathi Sonwabile Henama The 20th edition of MACUFE was successfully hosted, with the highlight being the Main Jazz Festival. The MACUFE Cup was a success with a stadium full to the rafters. As expected, the Glamour Boys continued their domination of the MACUFE Cup, winning another trophy to add to their cabinet. MACUFE has really come of age when one considers that the fact that it started in 1997 under […]

The Commercial Exploitation of Poetry is Necessary

By Shitshembiso Mabasa Words are powerful, we all know this and, as Africans, we have used spoken word to code, document and pass on wisdom and history across generations. [OPINION] Selling Telkom to bailout SAA is wrong

By Unathi Sonwabile Henama The news that the state was planning to sell its stake in Telkom to bail out South African Airways came as a shock to me.
