The body of a missing hiker was found on Table Mountain.
The man went missing after going for a hike on Wednesday, 5 January.
A search operation led by Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) led to his body being discovered.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated.
Spokesperson Johan Marais said the search operation was conducted in Yellowstone Gorge, via Skywalk towards Platteklip Gorge.
The hiker’s body was retrieved with the assistance of a helicopter. No further details are available at present.
Table Mountain has a number of hiking trails which could take between 2 to 4 hours to complete.
Hikers are warned to exercise caution during hikes due to the abrupt change in weather and the steep climb.
There are guided hikes available but most people opt to hike without assistance.
