Design Indaba 2018 might be behind us but there’s still quite a lot to look forward to all over the world when it comes to design and creativity conferences. Design conferences, like conferences in every industry, are a great place to meet others within the design industry and learn about the latest developments and upcoming innovations. Attending conferences is a great way to renew your passion.
Creative Mornings, Global
Creative Mornings is a monthly “breakfast lecture series” that happens monthly in cities (including Johannesburg!) across the globe. If you have ever wanted to hear your favourite creative minds speaking about anything (past topics have included magic, love and more) then Creatives is the platform for it. The monthly topics are similar across all 184 cities
The Creative Mornings manifesto includes “Everyone is creative. A creative life requires bravery and action, honesty and hard work.” If you are trying to be more creative in your life, these free talks are the place to be. The Creative Mornings website is also a portal to the world of creativity as most of the talk videos are uploaded for your viewing.

TYPO Berlin, Berlin, Germany
17–19 MAY 2018
TYPO Berlin is a conference presented by Typo Talks, which is an organisation that presents a series of international design talks. The concept is to expose attendees to as many talks, workshops and networking opportunities.
The theme for this year’s TYPO Berlin is “Trigger” and it’s all about finding ways to jumpstart change in the world through design and creativity. It will also be about evaluating change, are we making as good an impact as we think we are?
London Design Festival, London, UK
15-23 September 2018
While the London Design Festival is self-admittedly about “celebrating and promoting London as the design capital of the world,” it’s still one of the biggest design festivals and conferences in the world. It’s the place to go to learn about upcoming design trends. But London isn’t just talking at the world, the festival is a chance for international design ideas and design professionals to spark a conversation.
From showcasing the best architecture the capital has to offer and honouring landmarks within the city, the London Design Festival is as good a reason as any to visit the city.
